Pam Reagan

My creativity comes from a meditative place. I respond to words and I write poetry. I transform stories onto canvas using color, imagery and design.  My unique technique transcends personal stories into a harmonious space.
This ongoing self-genre includes content related to the female archetype, sex, death, and freedom.  My raw self-expression I give to my canvas has an endless-driven flow of imagery that live in a whimsical dialogue inside my painting.
It is intended for the audience to observe and translate the mysteries of the feminine, sex, death and freedom.

Featured Artist Bio from Art Over The Bridge Event

Artist Alessandra Santos
Born and raised in Panama City, Republic of Panama, visual artist Alessandra Santos currently resides in Miami, Florida. Her work is a reflection of the duality of her two realities: corporate world vs. artist world. In her recent piece, “In between” the artist explores the deconstruction of a suit, a vivid symbol of the corporate world. With every opening, every string, every act of separating the pieces of the suit, the artist unfolds a voyeuristic journey of feminine sensuality, curiosity and transformation. The artist uses the metaphor and symbolism behind the deconstruction as a conscious and playful approach to access the unconscious and unfold the shift from her corporate persona to her artistic being.  Using her background in Neuro-Linguistic Programming the artist understands how symbols, rituals, dreams and metaphors have been used for centuries to access and cause change on the deepest level of the human psyche.

She sees her creations as  dynamic three dimensional metaphors, results of a semi-ritualistic process that encompasses elements of metaphysics, religion and taboo.  In pieces the artist has selected for this exhibit (“Dirty Little Secrets” and  “Will”) the artist explore the usage of textiles and mixed media to create three dimensional floating sculptures that carry a personality and energy of their own. Dirty Little Secret is a compilation of  the artist thoughts, experiences, and sweet dirty wishes that all of us may have, but are not willing to accept.  The transparency of the fabric reveals the secret folded inside, yet still hidden.   “Will”      is a play on the same concept, yet approached from a collective perspective  and with a different spin. The artist collected the wishes and aspirations of many people to create a the floating sculpture that glows and floats with the energy of human will. Both creations materialize thoughts. Whether they become reality, only time will tell.

Santos is currently pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts at the Miami Art Institute.  Her interest in art began at age three when she painted her first mural in her parents’ hallway.
